Adopting a child can be one of the most stressful, emotional things a person or couple can go through. It’s also one of the most beautiful and rewarding. When you adopt a child, not only are you fulfilling your dream of becoming a parent, you are a giving that child one of the greatest gifts of all: a loving family.
Unfortunately, many people who are considering adoption are overwhelmed by the process. Many don’t even follow through with their wish to adopt because they don’t know where to start. That’s where this blog comes in.
Adoption Geek is all about empowering you to grow your family through adoption. I want to show you that adoption IS possible. You don’t have to be wealthy or anyone special. You just have to have the desire, as well as the right tools, resources, and information. If you have the desire, we can help provide you with the rest.
Adoption Geek is different from other adoption blogs and websites in these ways:
1. I’m not an adoption “expert.” I’m just an ordinary guy going through the same thing you are, so in many ways I can relate to you better. I hope to provide you a unique perspective and share with you everything I’ve learned about the adoption process as my wife and I go through it ourselves. (You can read my story here.)
2. It’s not boring! My hope is for this blog to not only be incredibly informative, but entertaining and inspiring as well. You’ll also get a taste of my personality and my sense of humor. I’ll be sure to put the “geek” in Adoption Geek, but don’t worry, you don’t have to be a geek to enjoy this website; it just helps! 🙂
I have a lot of exciting content planned for this blog. I’ll be sharing lots of useful tips, how-to articles, interviews with experts and more. I’ll cover everything from finding an adoption agency to reaching out to birthmothers to what to do once your child is placed. The most exciting part (to me, at least) is that I will also share my own personal adoption journey with you as it unfolds.
Sound good? If so, I would love to have you as a regular reader.
Just enter your e-mail in the box at the end of this post to sign up for my e-mail newsletter. You’ll receive exclusive content and updates to what’s new on the blog.
Thanks, and I wish you all the best on your adoption journey!
